Thanks for all the usefull advice, I "batteryed up" for this year, found several useful 24v power inverters that will be on time for future operations.

Have you ever tried this with LED lights? I've read LED require an extra diode to keep everything "flowing" the right way. I thought LED might be cooler and use less power. I'm attending a Christmas parade and have been asked to use lights to outline the truck. I've thought about inverters but...
