    (1) 25.4 seems low to me. You really would want to have about 27.5 to 28.5 volts to properly charge a LA battery. (2) Along with the low charge voltage, this really indicates that the charging circuit is not performing properly. BTW, it is (strongly) recommended you never disconnect batteries...
