Yes, Oct 1st, 2014 begins FY15. I think they will be hard pressed to get them all turned in and through DRMO by then. I had also heard the date was extend to Oct 1st 2016 (FY17) but haven't confirmed that yet.
Again, I would be spending premium $ on a 939 series unless you really needed it...
There will soon be a huge glut of 939's hitting the market over the next year and will depend a lot on local situations for the exact timing. This will be on the level of the big M35 sell off (the $600 deuce days). I've seen them lined up and ready to go. How the sequestration impacts this is...
DLA. Yes. Uh, that isn't how modernization and disposal works. Very, very few deuces and 800 series but none in official line units although only a handful are still being used for secondary purposes by installations. Example...fuel trucks but these will be gone as soon as they can be replaced.
Should have come to the rally. I had and still have 939 windshield u channel frames, seals, glass (no hinge portion that I know of). I think I still have a dozen (6 pair) left of the frames and seals. Not sure about the glass. I'll have to measure, but I may have an entire windshield assy...
If we go back over 3+ years ago, this was put out that 2014 will be the end for the 939 series. For the old crew, David Frankenhauser put this out several months before his untimely passing. And we've had several updates since. So it has been anticipated.
