The 5 ton will make a excellent site truck for pond work . One thing I would add to the truck is a electric box vibrator to help shake
the slop out of the nose of the box
Keep in mind those same " jealous local compettitors " will be calling the D.O.T. every chance they get if your truck isn't 100% in compliance with D.O.T. regulations . It seems most motor carrier officers have a big chip on there shoulder to start with and don't like seeing any trucks over 10...
I would find a used civy dump , the 800 series 5 tons with the 250 cummins motor isn't going to pull a 45,000 #
crawler loader . These trucks are too under powered and geared to low to be productive in a commercial application
