    From your description it sounds like a stuck CTIS wheel check valve. The only way air from the schrader valve would backfeed toward the CTIS manifold is if the check valve is stuck open. With the CTIS turned off or with a major leak in the CTIS feed lines, the check valve is supposed to "slam"...
