    Bed crane designs...

Pics would be great! In a week I have a full machine shop, welding shop, and drafting lab at my disposal. I should be able to put something together on paper and into a prototype we can all use. If you can put a couple of dimensions, or a ruler in the pic it would be helpful. I'm not familiar...

    Bed crane designs...

I need to find the right steel for the mast and boom, and the right bearings for the base hinge and pivot. I really don't care if it ends up weighing 900lbs, so my options are open. I suppose if I wanted to be ugly I could just use greased solid steel bars as hinge pins and a greased...

3000 lb. Electric ATV/UTV Winch with Automatic Load-Holding Brake I think I have found a winch that should work for the crane... weight, features and price.

Very good point. Maybe 2 lock pins... one hinge to angle/fold the boom, then pin it in place, and pull the second pin to rotate using the same cylinder. One cylinder mounted above both pivot points with a hiem joint. What I could salvage the ram from would be the question. This will be...

    Bed crane designs...

My goal is 2000lbs and foldable. The reason being, a 250gal IBC container is about that full of waste oil, and I really don't want the boom sticking up to get snagged. Electric or hydraulic is a question...

Epiphany! That balanced pallet fork in the video? Just build one out of a manual pallet jack. Once the load is on the bed, maneuver it how you want. Same thing on the ground to get it into position relative to the truck. I'm not 100% certain the forks on a normal pallet jack are strong...

    Bed crane designs...

Looking at these, I wonder if there is a way to blend the two designs. A single vertical that can fold flat/angle out, and a single extendable swing arm that can rotate 180 deg. (Pinned in place?) The winch could be placed on top or at the base with a couple pullies. Could we use a truck...

    Bed crane designs...

Sweet! Gimps got another design... I figured someone was a long way ahead of me on this. I was surfing the knuckleboobs and HF truck cranes... too much then too little. This thing seems just right. Do the job and then fold away.

    Bed crane designs...

I was actually thinking it could be "modified" for deuce use.... as in ripped off and made bigger with cylinders salvaged from "?" It's just an a-frame crane. But the way that thing tucks away! Maximum lift would be a pallet, right? Say 2000lbs? It has my mind turning, but I'm thinking they...

Ezy-Lift Truck Lift - YouTube This design gives me ideas for my deuce. But have any of you folks ever used one like this? What do you think? That with a bed mounted winch would seem to be the easy way to self load a truck. But I've never messed with hoists aside from engine lifts and shop lifts.
