    So I looked under the truck tonight and found I have have the thinner shims.... so once I get it bobbed and the bigger michelins on it I'll try flipping them and see what happens.

    I'm still not sure on this yet. Making lift blocks would be great but then longer shocks might be needed and longer u bolts as well Luke stated above. Plus what is it going to change in the steering so on and so forth.

    Who said anything about a mill? I do everything by hand with a grinder lol. And actually I'm not going to make the ground in the solid I don't think. I'm going to weld lips on the bottom to locate front and rear. As far as boots go I think I'm going to flip the bolts over for better ground...

    I found some 2" flat plate at work in the corner. In going to try and rough cut the shape out today.

    Ok this may be a dumb question but since I don't have my truck yet I have to ask. Why is there two holes in the shim? I think I might try and make my own perch sorta like the one in the prints peashooter has provided. Using a 3/4" flat plate and then welding on little nubs to locate it front...

    Yeah just because it's easy doesn't make it right. And I surely will Toby, it's going to be a few weeks but I will get it done. We just had 10" of snow and now this morning another 2" with 1/4" of ice and we are supposed to get more snow this weekend.

    Idk I thought you ground the one edge and still flipped them around? I'm hoping my truck has the 4* wedges so I can just flip them.

    Yes I agree turning them around does seem to much. I also don't understand some pictures have the locator pin centered and others do not. I want to keep it simple and just remove material from the original perch. When I get my truck in two weeks I'll put a magnetic degree finder on the front on...

    I have read the entire thread but no one really posted pictures of the finished result. I could make a 1/4" flat shim very easily. I could also make a 1/4" wedge shim as well. But I think I'd rather take the stock perch and measure mark and grind out what is needed to make it right.

    So let me get this straight..... you guys are jacking the truck up, taking the shim out flipping the perch 180*, re drilling the pin hole and bolting it all back together? Does any one have pictures of their finished shim before installation?
