    Thanks Steve. I think I am going to take the trans out of the parts truck and rebuild it. Then do the R&R on my driver. I am going to try it this saturday, but I am not sure. I will let you know though, thanks for the offer.

    Thanks for the replies. The problem with the trans is that it "slides" into 3rd at a very high-rev, but doesn't hold ... it just right back down to 2nd. Shifting from 1st to 2nd is ok. This problem just started, out of the blue. Was driving for about 20 minutes before it started to occur...
