    Deuce Floor Insulation

Hey quickfarms! Thanks for the tip on DB engineering- I checked out their website (http://cabinsulation.com) and spoke with one of their engineers who had lots of good info on sound dampening. He sent me some free samples and I am going with their acoustical floor mat for the floor and firewall...

Thanks Don, I lucked out when I found it at Idaho Motor Pool. I bought it just as you see it. Alex Gordon at IMP is a great, stand-up guy to deal with. I'm definately gonna need help working on this beast- will let ya know. I'll post more pics as the work progresses.....

Blue, Thanks for the compliment. I am going to insulate the entire cab, just not completely sure which products will go where. Probably lizard skin everywhere, folowed by something TBD. Here's some pics of the truck after I picked it up. Enjoy, Mark

    Deuce Floor Insulation

Blue, Thanks for the heads up! I was considering the Lizard Skin because it is a spray on product that bonds tightly to the metal. Once dry, water cannot get underneath it. My deuce spent its' life with the Arizona ANG in Phoenix and is pretty much rust free. Not much H2O around here to drive...

    Deuce Floor Insulation

Forgot to mention I did install a Donaldson muffler. I measured the sound with a sound meter 2 ft from the stack opening and got: 94 dB before 84 dB after muffler install- quite a reduction!

    Deuce Floor Insulation

Thanks for all the input guys! Right now I'm considering spraying with lizard skin, covering that with a FatMat type product, then topping that with Durabak. I'll make sure to leave all the panels accessible. What do y'all think? Too much? I'm also in the process of installing an A/C kit I got...

    Deuce Floor Insulation

Thanks guys, that's great info. Your truck looks great Don! Lowtech, thats exactly what I was trying to find out. Are you guys happy with the noise dampening you get with the FatMat? What do you think of covering that with Durabak or a similar product?

    Deuce Floor Insulation

Hi everyone! I'm a new A2 deuce owner and I'm preparing to insulate the floor and cab of my truck. Not sure what product I'm going to use yet but I was wondering if it's necessary to leave the access panels on top of the transmission, well, "accessible"? Do you veteran owners ever find it...
