    On the way to Bobs

With help this week from my son up from Debary Fl, I managed to open up the holes in the side of the VSE refurbished bed of the bobber and get some side rails banged down in there for the first time. I've always had a brand new, in the box, M105 cover in wait, and wanted to get it on to keep out...

    On the way to Bobs

Thanks Dave. Better to get that A/C done in this nice weather then when it hits 95 again.:D You find more things to do on that deuce, and I thought it was perfect when I saw it. :-P Anyway, today, I decided it was just to difficult to get in the back of the deuce. I had an aluminum ladder that...

    On the way to Bobs

Well, I have been a real MV slacker since the Ga. Rally and really haven't done much of anything. I still want to get back to my Bobber here and make is special in some kind of way before I sell it. I wish I had room for it, but with a M37, and maybe two soon, and about 6 trailers plus a tractor...

    On the way to Bobs

WOW. That's some nice work. Ready to go tailgating I see. Where do you store the grill? The battery equalizer is about the same thing square, maybe a couple inches longer. I'll check behind the seat. I have to figure out some way to protect the battery terminals as they are exposed. I would hate...

    On the way to Bobs

Well, today I completed the base coat of paint. I hope to give it a final coat after the Ga. Rally. It's come a long ways. I took it out for a joy ride this afternoon. Way cool! I like it better than my other two deuces. It feels like it has power steering with those 395s on it. They stand...

    On the way to Bobs

OK, that is something I will consider if I have any kind of problems in the future with the brakes, for sure. For now, I still have plenty to do to make this "unique" and maintenance to do as well. I've owned it for about three months, unofficially, or since I put the down payment on it, but...

    On the way to Bobs

Thanks Dave. Don, I haven't decided yet. For some reason, I kinda like them the way they are, but need to clean up some of the lug nuts on the 24 bolt side.

These pictures should be better. I adjusted out the white balance on her camera.

Ugggghh... those pictures suck. I'm going to find my camera tomorrow and try again. This was my wifes camera. Not sure how her settings are set up.

    On the way to Bobs

Today, I'm painting the base coat on much of the truck. I've been working on it about three full days now all total, and am about 70-80% complete. Tomorrow, I'll climb on top of the hood and grind and wire brush the hinges and windshield edges and prime and paint to finish the base coat. I hope...

    On the way to Bobs

Yeah, you gotta appreciate two hard working folks like Michael (USMCTOPGUN) and Robert. They did it out on Roberts farm. Both have full time jobs. Wish everyone would come through like they. I felt like such a dope coming back from the car wash. I took the long way around. It's been months...

    On the way to Bobs

I picked up my deuce today after the bob job was done and tool it to the car wash. I think it was the first washing in years, and was worried it might not start when I put about ten dollars worth of engine degreasing soap on the hot engine. Once I got all the black tree drippings or fungus like...

    On the way to Bobs

The body is in good shape with minimal rust. It won't take much wire brushing at all. Mostly just sanding and painting. It will be tough to get it done before the Rally, but I'm going to try. My M-37 project is going to have to fall by the wayside. This truck should be beautiful when done. I...

    On the way to Bobs

The bobber project is taking longer then expected. I'm positive it will not be done in time for the Ga Rally now which is a big dissappointment, but I'm happy with the guys and the work. They got the springs, axle and the M105 bed on the back now. The 2" receiver plate is bolted on. I went to...

    On the way to Bobs

Today I received my wheel adapters from CCEquipment. Whoa! Did they ever come through. I ordered uncut adapters on Thursday, they cut, packaged and shipped and I had them at my front door on Tuesday. Now that's professionalism. Nuts and bolts were special order and they should arrive Friday or...

    On the way to Bobs

Today I managed to work out some vendor problems with getting some 395 wheel adapters. Looks like CCEquipment is coming to my rescue, where I wasted about 6 weeks of time in trying to work something out with another vendor, who seems to take joy in jerking people around. CCEquipment is not...

    On the way to Bobs

I went to Lowes today to pick up some 1X3" red oak for the bed. The old oak was worn out with wear and even picked up a few bugs from laying on the ground. Lowes has red oak in 6 foot sections and it turns out to be the same size as on the deuce bed rails or 3/4"X2 1/2" so it should work out...

    On the way to Bobs

So much depends on it getting done before the end of August. I'm personally working my new M-37, trying to get it ready too. And my MRAP wheel adapters have been delayed, but that might have been reborn today with them being ready for delivery mid week next week. I've really had trouble with...

    On the way to Bobs

Got some pictures in from USMCtopgun. The tandem is removed now and they got springs from the M-105 in on one side now. Did some cutting and grinding. They are going to pick up the pace on the bobbing by working it in the after noons much of this week. Not much to show. Hopefully, we'll come up...
