M936 New hydraulic hoses and a little paint on wrecker bed!

Well I added the schackle to the rear winch bracket. I like it better than the 2 cables system that was there, it give you more room to get on and off the rear deck. After mounting the bracket I marked the thread of the bolts then took them out and cut them so they would be barly past the nut to...

M936 New hydraulic hoses and a little paint on wrecker bed!

Thanks, I did not mount it , it is just sitting there! How would I trade mark it? I just could not stand the cables and yes I would put a 1 smaller cable as a go between, but I wanted input first! Thanks for the advise.

M936 New hydraulic hoses and a little paint on wrecker bed!

I would like some input on mounting a schackle on the rear winch roller bracket pic below. the main reason for adding the schackle is to secure the block and do away with the cable that is there now. I also added a few pics of the spring I installed to keep the hoses off of the tool boxes.

M936 New hydraulic hoses and a little paint on wrecker bed!

Thanks for the info, I myself would love to keep it original but money is the problem, the bulbs alone at NAPA are 50 bucks + I can get lights off of equipment for a lot less and maybe even more light. I will store the originals if I decide to sell it so the new owner will be able to return it...

M936 New hydraulic hoses and a little paint on wrecker bed!

I am trying to stop the hoses from rubbing on the tool boxes when swinging the crane so I made modefications to the hoses using a spring and hose clamps. I also put some rubber between the crane frame and the hoses in an attempt to slow down wear on the outer side of the hoses! I need to get...

M936 New hydraulic hoses and a little paint on wrecker bed!

Mark (NF6X), My cousin told me that the load winding noise is not a problem, he said he could completly rebuild one and it still make the winding noise. As long as it doesn't sound like it is in a bind it is good to go.

M936 New hydraulic hoses and a little paint on wrecker bed!

More pics on paint project and hose changes. I am making some new blocks for the hydraulic lines, I need to cut them in half and drill the holes for the support brackets. The floor in the gondola will be cut out and a new plate welded in, instead of drilling holes in the corners I think I am...

M936 New hydraulic hoses and a little paint on wrecker bed!

Jeff, My records show it received in Hammond, La. on 4-18-85 with 107 miles on her, it was inspected on 4-24-84. There is almost one year and 107 miles that I cannot account for. I would call the base and ask Doug but I know he was not there at that time. Warren

M936 New hydraulic hoses and a little paint on wrecker bed!

nf6x, brianrbull, I have not seen one either ,but I have one. I do not plan on putting it back on for now, if I do I will take it apart and completely redo it. The bad part is if you trailer it, it is over the height limit unless you have a super low boy. It doesn't get that cold in south La...

M936 New hydraulic hoses and a little paint on wrecker bed!

I am in the process of changing some of the hydraulic hoses and adding a little paint on the wrecker bed. The hoses on the crane are a must change, they are about to blow. My cousin is a crane mechanic and he made the hoses for me for a few cases of beer[thumbzup]! What a deal. I don't like...
