    Just wanted to let you know your not alone, I just installed my SX460 today and the magic smoke escaped i the same place. The bad part is I still don't know why, unless it was just a defective voltage regulator, I am going to order another one and study the wiring diagram some more. Ike

    Rotating rectifier? People have reported being able to change the diodes using flex sockets without full generator end disassembly like the manual calls for. Ike

    One thing to note there is an empty screw terminal between about 24 and 25 (maybe 25 and 26), so don't get your place count off when comparing to the diagram. Ike

    That whole box is the voltage regulator.     AC or DC regulator?, if AC regulator it is the shoebox sized unit in the middle of the control box at the back. Ike I am still in the process of changing mine out, other projects keep getting in the way.
