Q: are you just trying to teach others of the many ways...
What you see in there is the outer spindle nut that comes for the (Warn)automatic locking hubs, replacing the factory hex- or 4-slotted nut.
Clean it well and try to find a small allen set screw (5/32-32tpi) inside one of the threaded holes. That is what locks that part to the locking washer...
