I picked up a few trailers back in August at Ft Bliss. I took off the military tires and wheels and sold them and installed some 285's on gm aluminum wheels. In doing so, I pulled off the stabilizer legs to install them on the rear and use the tongue jack to lift the trailers off their tires...
FYI, the 101 series and 1101/2 series trailers use a 3" lunette, while most of the smaller commercial pintles are designed for a 2-1/2" lunette ring. The only drawback when doing this is that the 3" ring will occasionally bind in the smaller pintle if you're turning sharply and backing...
