    Someone with the same issue sent me their ECU and i had tested it on my FMTV. Turned out my laptop could not connect to it and that it was faulty. He replaced the ECU and it worked like a charm. Diagnostic tools rule. Having a 2006 truck that has rhe right diagnostic port to connect tour laptop...

    What I'm using is the Dearborn adaptor from the diagnostic kit with an Panasonic Toughbook cf29 running windows XP with the free Dana diagnostic software.

    You really need the Dana diagnostic tool. With it I was able check what was going on and also erase any errors. With it you can change the overspeed values and tire pressure and store it in the ECU.

    The black CTIS ECU will show the overspeed light until the truck is driven above 40-45mph for a few minutes. So that's not it. The transmission output sensor not working right will cause the overspeed light as well.

    @awesomeness : did you drive your truck for a few minutes with a speed between 40-45mph after changing to the black CTIS? Observe what the overspeed light does after you have driven the truck
