Thanks for the info glcaines. I have a place right around the corner, that works on backhoes and tractors in general. But anything this much fun I rather do myself. How else am I gonna learn how to do it?
This particular pin holds the entire assembly together. Kind of like that screw that holds the two pieces of scissors together.
I imagine that if the whole thing is not pinned somehow that the arm will drop and then will be a huge pita to get back together.

I agree with you, Guy. Taking it apart sounds like the way to go. Taking that pin out could be a huge can of worms , if done wrong or in the wrong sequence. So I was going to go for the easy way first. With that being said, I’ll pump a few squeezes of grease in it , move, wipe and repeat. Until...
So I’ve been greasing all the grease points on the backhoe and when I got to the dipper pin . A bunch of water came out. I went to move the dipper around a bit and it started to moan pretty badly.
Then I got some wd40 , pb blaster followed by red and tacky spray grease. Moved it around and it...
