    M923: mudding or not?

OK, just curious, I know I'm reviving this thread, but how often does everyone NORMALLY change the fluids (transmission, differentials, etc), under "normal" conditions? I'm curious and thought I'd ask here since my thought is take mine I'm getting mudding in the real nasty stuff right before...

    M923: mudding or not?

Wow, that sounds like it makes it even more fun, not having to do the "recovery" and "cleanup" work!

    M923: mudding or not?

Ah fun, 5 ton buried up above the axles!

    M923: mudding or not?

    M923: mudding or not?

Same here, I've never understood the concept of differentials very well...it might as well be magic...

    M923: mudding or not?

One faster than the other...AKA in turns, etc? Yeah, I knew it couldn't be the drug LSD...rofl

    M923: mudding or not?

LSD? Pardon my ignorance, but what does that stand for? Gravity as a recovery tool...AKA mudding on hills?

    M923: mudding or not?

Interesting, what is the definition of "Large" here...something like 54"?
  10. 71DeuceAK

    M923: mudding or not?

Interesting to note. With larger tires, though, I wonder about street legality...thoughts?

    M923: mudding or not?

I got the impression you could make the M939s a little more mud-ready by installing lockers?
  12. 71DeuceAK

    M923: mudding or not?

So basically the two rear/bogie axles are always engaged but the front is not unless in low or 6WD, and putting the transfer case in low range also engages the front axle? (I know, dumb newbie question).

    M923: mudding or not?

"Pictures or it didn't happen!" No, I believe it. I know when I get a 5 ton I'll be playing in the mud, though to a lesser extent than some if it's my daily driver (which it may very well be).
  14. 71DeuceAK

    M923: mudding or not?

Oh, gonna try it with the M813?
  15. 71DeuceAK

    M923: mudding or not?

That second video just helps show off good old American muscle! I'd have to say the M931 won that one...rofl

    M923: mudding or not?

Pressure washer would definitely be an essential...

    M923: mudding or not?

    Sounds like an adventure!
  18. 71DeuceAK

    M923: mudding or not?

Oh, did they provide these pictures? What's the backstory? (Intentionally "finding" "problems" or just sinking into a soft spot in the backyard or something? rofl
  19. 71DeuceAK

    M923: mudding or not?

Not bad at all! Those were some serious ruts there... I know when I get one I'll be playing in the mud plenty.

    M923: mudding or not?

Yeah, maintenance can get expensive once you have mud/high water involved...but if you're equipped to do that and have a way to get pulled out should you get stuck (A 5 ton is going to be one heavy SOB to get unstuck, mind you) I say go for it; go get filthy regularly once you get one! :driver:
