Cummins oil systems are about as simple and reliable as a small block Chevy. Yet the gauges and senders are about as cheap as Chinese tin foil. I switched mine to a matching full sweep mechanical gauge, and then observed readings much more inline with what one would expect.

Your pressures are fine. 8.3L oil pressure is nearly identical to a 350 Chevy. 10psi per 1000rpm is plenty. The stock MV electric oil pressure gauge is terrible in accuracy, resolution, and reliability. It really just confirms it is not zero. But at least for an 8.3L, if it has oil, it will...
