There's a thread on SS somewhere that has a huge debate over this, I changed to DOT3 because I drive my truck fairly regularly, while the military ones may set for months on end. Also water absorbs into DOT 3, it seperates from DOT 5, for some reason everybody thinks this is good, but the water...

I feel your pain have had days....no weeks like that, sometimes it just doesn't pay to get out of bed......but of course there are those days when everything goes right, and those kind'a make up for the bad ones.....this too shall pass. Good luck TOMORROW! - AZ

On the lower hose, I set the radiator on some wood shims about 1-1 1/2" thick and fight that weasel lower hose on, then pull the wood and let the radiator set down in place in the 2 holes, has worked for me twice. Hope this helps.
