    I doubt he can send it back after he took a grinder to it. With that said if the latch on the bottom locks into the pintle now it isn't going to fall out. I probably wouldn't want to fire a live M2 out of it but for just display purposes and driving around unless your off-roading in it I doubt...

    You don't really need the travel lock your using you need the yoke part of the UPA more then anything. Once the Yoke is attached to the UPA and the T&E mech. is on, the travel lock your using is useless.

    I have plenty of OEM pintles. They have 2 groves. So they will work with both the M2 and M3 tripods and related mounts.
