RE: Radio setup
Thanks for the heads up Bjorn. I had seen that but I didn't jump because I am working on a package deal for one of them, an MX-7777, some short interconnect cables, some headsets and a crew chief control box. As for the "bendix connectors" and using them as a power plug, I'll...
Radio setup
OPCOM, he did not have an AM-1780/VRC but I did get a few other items from him.
I also have found the "power plug" that goes in the power plug holder behind the pass. seat in the Deuce. Not sure if I can incorporate it into my installation or not until I get all the other parts I...
Posted a want ad for an AM-1780/VRC. I'm not a very adept Ebay searcher yet so there are probably 10 out there but I just haven't found one. Any help locating one would be much appreciated!
Thanks, :D

ONTOS66, I just noticed your posts because my orange "new post" thangs are not working again! I have paper versions of some of the install and operating TM's, but nothing for the MX-7777's in their various configurations. Very helpfull for me and I imagine for a few other radio newbie's.Thank...
In reading my various TM's on radios, installs, etc., there many references to plugging into the vehicles power plug. Can't find a reference to the cable or at least what kind of cable end is supposed to secure to the power plug bracket behind the passenger seat in a Deuce. Any one have one that...
Thanks OPCOM. I found a site this AM and took a couple of practice tests and hit 20 and 21 out of 35 with no study etc. So there is hope with a little practice etc. I can pass!!

Thanks OPCOM! This is like an on line correspondence course! I'll have to print this one out and study up on it as this is all new to me but I get the gist of it. Certainly will help as installation rolls around when warmer weather gets here. As to a ham license, no, not yet, researching that...

ONTOS66-Learning the lingo here-CVC? Also, am I correct in thinking that one ant. base is tunable, one is not. One you tune on the base and the other is tunable from the radio if so equipped.
Thanks Bjorn. I thought you probably had a drawing, but I thought if I spent the time figuring it out it would help me understand the system and try to learn some of the #'s. Besides, it was too cold thim AM to go right to work anyway.
Thanks guys! I should redo the direct line from the batteries to the radio to indicate it really goes to the mount. Maybe later tonight.
What would your antenna cable and antenna base preference be?
From seeing various lists of parts needed and from other sources this is a tentative setup I have come up with. Some connections and pieces and parts have options noted. Please make any recommendations, changes etc.
Thanks,
BC
