You can have a couple of my $300 101’s if you want.
The storage fees are outrageous though! :)
I just reviewed the last years auction prices on 101’s and 1101 and 1102’s.
Dang. Some of these got fierce.
I just bought a drift boat for the summer, so was thinking about thinning my herd of 101’s. I know, I know, it’s hard to do. It’s like selling an organ, a child or a gun. I just never do it!
But, who needs 4 of them?
Me.
I bought a few lots of NOS M105 beds out of OKC last year. Ready to mount to the frame! If I happen to have spare 105 frames laying around, which I don’t. The 105 bed is thick compared to a 101 bed. They are not the same beast. Just guessing, 11 ga or .125 on the 105 compared to the 101 bed at...
I had a guy at Home Depot wait for me in the parking lot. He just wanted to reminisce about them. Had so many good things to say. He wanted one, but didn’t have the scratch to buy one. Even back when they weren’t too expensive.
I think I recognize some of those pics from ex-po! I go by the same name over there. They don’t seem to have the same affinity for MV’s as we do. They do like to use the trailers as soon as the pintle hitch is removed (too noisy for them, funny, It doesnt seem to bother me). They like them just...
Me too! ... Definitely! ... Someday! You are right that it takes some serious scratch to build one. You better have your plans in mind and material list priced out, or you are in for a shock if you just dive in and build willy nilly.
I started build on an adventure trailer from scratch. I went...
I know guys on adventure portal make 101’s into adventure trailers. Anyone else, besides the one above, do the same? I have plans to, but that means little, as I have plans for a time machine as well. Although, I am much, much, more apt to get to this first since I have actually purchased parts...
That’s awesome. They can handle a lot.
Except .... One I bought one out of RRAD with a nice, well made, shop built steel topper. It was pretty cool! BUT! If you ever pulled it empty, do not go around turns very fast. The top weighs more than the trailer bed and if you hit a bump, at a fast...
They really make great adventure/camping trailers. You have done a wonderful job with yours. Some don’t like taking one and modifying it to where it doesn’t look “military” any more. Personally, that’s why I buy these things. They are fantastic platforms to build on. I respect the purist who...
Usually my response to not getting what I want too! Good move!
I picked up 3 of the 101A2’s last year from RRAD. They didn’t have wheels, but I did, so all ended well. They were all in good shape. Beds were not rusted, not dinged up. They were dumping a bunch of trailers with no wheels in...
It’s good you got a couple when you could. They are solid trailers.
I have the bigger tires & wheels like the 1101’s (37’s on H1 rims) on all mine except one, that is all stock, from the tarp down to the new tires.
I guess it’s a personal preference, but I love the 1101/2’s. They are sexy!
The Jeepers pay more for a good clean 101A2 than a nice 1101/1102. They are a nice light, perfect trail/adventure trailer.
They wont be getting any cheaper if the auctions have dried up. As an owner of 4 of them, I can’t say I’m too upset about that! :)
