What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Drove around with no real purpose. Running out of things to do. Take out burgers then ice cream. Ate in the S-280 with my son. A "picnic" day. Cold and windy.

Used it to pick up Paver stones, gravel base, sand, mulch, lumber and other material for my sons Eagle Scout Project. Went well. Great weather and looks awesome.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Coolant is just above the neck. Going to be in the 90’s all week here. Will take “him” out for a run at some point and see what happens. If I get out of work at a decent time will get an IR gun.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Been in the high 80"s and 90"s . Truck usually runs great. Have only had fan come on one other time in a parade. It was HOT! When moving...no problem. It's the traffic around here. Friday on east bound 66 was barely at a crawl and the truck got hot. Then yesterday returning from work I...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I had done the radiator when I got to rebuild the air compressor this winter. Fluid is clean and green. Wondering if thermostat is stuck?? Fan does kick on at @ 220. No IR gun. Without removing the thermostat I guess there is no way to "manually" move fluid through the block to check it?

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Drove mine to work 2 days in a row. That deserves a toast!! Met Another Ahab for lunch today. He is alive and well!! Had a great time. Then tonight I cut out the screen out on the intake as some of you recommend for more air. I already have the air filter kit from TMG. It was a warm day...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Just flipped the tongue on this M1101 that has been sitting in my warehouse for a few years. Rides perfectly flat behind the Beast and the lights work! Now time for a paint job. Was playing around in the S-280 as well. Made and installed a 36" high cabinet on the opposite side from the...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Nothing compared to SIMP, but I think I rolled across the scales at the quarry at 33,000 lbs. Just noticed it a tad on take off. That's it.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Yes, was a little scary headed into the quarry early that morning. Lots of 16 wheel dump trucks in and out. Heavy dew and foggy. Could not see much and was my first time at this one. When I rolled up to get loaded I could not even see the loader until he beeped at me. All went well. I...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

21A is known as crush and run. Gravel mixed with fines (rock dust) typically used on unpaved roads since it can be dumped, spread and rolled. At my old house we would chain the door on the back of the dump truck. Lift the bed and drive along until all the 21A ran out the back 6"-10" gap.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Picked up 5 tons of 21A to make a base for my sons Boy Scout Troop shed. That loader makes my truck look small. Then back home for a wash. Since the cover and bows had to come off maybe i will get the S280 in the back. Need two trucks so it can stay in one.
