I'm not sure why I waited a decade to get this, but I finally picked up a 48" long 2" strap with D rings to use with the spare tire davit. It should help relieve the stress on the wire rope, especially on the corners.

Look back a few posts. The wheels are Accuride 13" x 22.5s, with Bridgestone M864 445/65R22.5 tires on them. 22 ply, 12800 lb tires.

Last week I found some 445/65R22.5s that were in my price range and so I got em and mounted them on some 13" x 22.5" wheels I had. Looks pretty sharp, I guess. I put balancing beads in them and that seems to have a pretty good positive effect.

Yeah, they're spacers to set the trailer on to keep the front higher than the 916 roller, so I don't have to use the winch to hook up each time.

Had the right steer tire blow out on Tuesday at 55 mph. The blowout was uneventful - tire popped and I coasted to a stop. The truck didn't want to pull to the side until I was almost stopped. Changing the tire was eventful, as I thought I had everything I needed to complete the task, but I...

Some time ago, my 916 started leaking fuel from the top of the engine somewhere. I figured it must be one of the o-rings in the fuel crossover tubes between the cylinder heads. M35A2-AZ came over and we dug into the engine to get to where these were hiding. A lot of stuff has to come off the...

Eventually, I'll be doing some work to this one. It needs new tires and lighting. I need a spare tire, and I seem to recall the wheels being oddball. I think I'll put all LED lighting on it and add a 12v commercial electrical connector. I want to replace the broken boards now and maybe all...

The only fuses on my truck are between the batteries and the batter equalizer and then what is related to the transmission ECM.

I haven't really done too much to the M916 lately. I need to finish the A/C install and trace a few air leaks. Probably need to service or rebuild the air dryer. Earlier this year, I picked up an M172 25 ton trailer and pulled it home with the 916.

I weighed just the M916 today with a full tank of fuel and me in it. Front axle 13,960 lbs Drive axle 14,820 lbs Gross weight 28,780 lbs Seeing as how the front axle is heavier unloaded than loaded, I think the earlier combined tractor/trailer ticket must have been without me in the truck...

Right - Its just very heavy for an unloaded truck. Its heavy for a loaded truck, too. They usually aim for 12k - 34k - 34k.

That its so much heavier of a front axle weight than most/all of the commercial vehicles normally over the scale.

I weighed the M916 and M870A1 trailer together with a full tank of fuel. Front axle 13,860 lbs Drive axle 20,560 lbs Trailer axle 14,040 lbs Gross weight 48,460 lbs The lady that I got the scale ticket asked me "Whats wrong with your front axle?" :)
