Well, for whatever reason, I could not get the 4 and 2 cylinder bellhousing photos on the last post, so I'll try again.

You can see in the two photos below, the starter mounting area on the 4-cylinder mules are different than the 2-cylinder mules. Actually, the pull starter on the 4-cylinder engines was built into the flywheel and there was no externally mounted recoil unit like the 2-cylinders. There's no teeth...

As far as I know, the mule is the only vehicle that has the U.S.A. Registration Number stamped on the data plate. In the photo of the A2 data plate below, the U.S.A. Registration Number stamped at the top right is the number that would be painted on the side of the mule. It will be the same...
