    Hello and 5ton questions

Thanks for the heads up. I was almost sold on them. Why not bob? Because the ride is better? I'm concerned about maneuverability on long dirt roads. I like to backpack Mtn bike and explore mining roads etc. The camper idea is exactly what I'm after. I'm wondering if I can mount a box from the...

    Hello and 5ton questions

Sounds like you scored a good one. I'm trying to figure out what and then the best place to go. It sounds like a 5 ton is the way to go, I was almost sold on the lmtv.

    Hello and 5ton questions

Thanks,... so it sounds like it can be done.👍🏽 I don't tow often- only if I need to rent equipment. Where'd you find yours ? Do you put many Offroad miles on it? Someone suggested that they are problematic Offroad.

    Hello and 5ton questions

Lol. I'm thinking I could put 30,000 miles a year or more on whatever I end up with.

    Hello and 5ton questions

I really like the way they're laid out and the fact I can get an insulated box with one. Have you put a lot of miles on it? I'm looking for something I can drive a lot without a lot of issues. It's starting to seem like a LMTV' with a hopped up 8.3 or a 5.9 swap would be the way to go.

    Hello and 5ton questions

Good info Txcoop. Where'd you get your truck? Does it keep the rain out and does the heater crank?

    Hello and 5ton questions

Nice I like it. How long have you had it and how many miles have you put on it? Have you had to deal with many issues? One guy that sells MV's on line told me to stay away from them because things like door handles break and they're hard to replace/find parts for. Is that true? If not I'll jump...

    Hello and 5ton questions

I've been looking into that too. I have been given the impression that they're more trouble prone than a 5 ton and I know I can get an Allison in a 5 ton but have no idea who makes the tranny for the 1078's. I definitely like the cabs on the 1078's better and the fact that I can buy one with a...

    Hello and 5ton questions

I can see the extra axle being good for traction but on tighter roads it would be a drawback.

    Hello and 5ton questions

I like the LMTV's, you can get them with an insulated box installed, and the cab is definitely the best. It just seems like they are more trouble prone based on my initial reading. If I'm wrong please fill me in. It's definitely the most appealing vehicle in a lot of ways.

    Hello and 5ton questions

I just don't think I need that much truck and it would make it more maneuverable- I like driving down dirt roads.

    Hello and 5ton questions

Hi, I just signed up last night and am completely new to the subject of military vehicles. I'm considering a military vehicle as a work/play truck. I was considering a bobbed deuce with a box on the back but I'm 6'4" and was told that the cabs might be too tight and that a bobbed 5 ton might be...
