    HMMWV Half Shafts

    You might check your half shaft fasteners and see if you still have the old bolts with split washers or have been upgraded to the 15mm bolt heads with Nordlocks. Use high-temp loctite Red 272 (not the usual 271) on the threads. Torque to 57-58 lb-ft.

    or just stick a big screwdriver into the slots in the rotor and let it wedge itself against the cross-member.

    Specifically Red 272 Loctite, not the standard Red 271 - you want the high temp Loctite to go with your fresh nordlock washers. That halfshaft flange gets darn hot because it is bolted to the brake rotors.
