    I bought a "Not operationally checked" MEP-803A what can I expect?

    Battery should be at least 12.6V to be considered charged. Anything below that needs charged before testing. If the batteries are in good shape the unit can still be started down to about 12.3V each, but they are considered nearly dead at that point, so not a good idea to do it if you don't...

    My thoughts where the same as Chainbreaker, take something to strap down to the front of the trailer to give you some additional tongue weight if you are concerned about it. I'm not sure if I'd use sandbags if this is a flatbed trailer but if they are in good enough shape why not?

    The trailer was built using a lot of off the shelf civilian components, rather than anything specifically military in nature. That probably included not having them make a special stamp for the brake fluid type on the cap.

    As fr as I know, DOT 5 is the military standard to use in every vehicle/trailer that takes brake fluid, primarily due to moisture absorption by DOT 3/4.

    A lot of these end up leaking fuel inside the engine area. Most common cause is leaking fuel lines. Not end of the world, diesel isn't explosive so mot much of a hazard during testing, but will make a mess if not taken care of.
