Probably gonna part/scrap this one out and fix/sell my M50 water truck after putting a bed on it.

Wow, that post had a bunch of errors. Too late up on the little phone screen. Corrected.

    Paramount water truck

Been working on the big dodge, pulled out a stuck semi with it yesterday. Picked up an M1008 that I'll probably be selling along with some of my brother's partial 1008s. Got a bunch more work to do on the dodge and the burb and sell the burb, and the sand rail needs a lot of little stuff too. I...

Just been too hot (triple digits) for any deuce wrenching. Won't cool down til next month. Then it's 4x4 and dune buggy season.

Haven't ran it all summer, needed to move it, started up, boom 60 psi oil, yes!

    Paramount water truck

Haven't been running it, but last time I did, oil pressure only came up to 20psi. Was like 60 I think. Time to have a look (when I get a chance). Thoughts/ideas? I've never changed any filters/oil, and not sure if I should or start taking things apart to see what the deal is.

I will test injectors eventually, but I can hear the pushrods clattering, which was what my '62 was doing, valves were very loose, and adjusting them made a huge improvement. Three of the exhaust valves were very loose. Should I not run it until I get the HG situation fixed? Or is a little...

Well, apparently she doesn't like makin' power. Valves started ticking, causing a little chug at idle, no biggie. On dry start, the engine sounds kinda "clattery" 'til the oil pressure comes up (it comes up to 60 psi cold at idle I think) and then when it gets warmed up, and the pressure goes...

Should an LD leave a constant trail of smoke, or just on acceleration where it's getting a lot of fuel? Thanks

    Paramount water truck

Repaired the muffler and reinstalled it, took it for a drive. Much better, feels like my LDS before the boost kicks in. Can actually accelerate in 5th. Leaves a nice constant, fat, trail of smoke. Might back it off a bit. Sounded a bit different after a run down the street, think I need to...

    Paramount water truck

I cranked it up three revolutions from 3 threads showing to 7 like my other pump, which was still safety wired, and it starts like boom after one or two cranks, sounds smoother and healthier at idle, and smokes like it should when I rev it. Didn't have time to drive it yet, but I think we may...

Does this fuel setting look correct or close? Non turbo...thanks

Very interesting, I wonder if there is a felt difference between the rubber and solid ends. Also, if they make a difference in traction hop. I would think the solid ends would hop less.

Starting is improved with a 30psi electric pump. Still no smoke or power, haha.

That would be cool! We are few and far between out here. I am isolated by 3 hours...we have a group going on facebook with a handful of member and are planning a mini rally in the mountains this summer.

Seat of the pants, 10psi isn't much pressure but it's still flow. I doubt the HH will burn up, unless run super high RPM. It'll probably wear slowly, which it may have already. Anyway, I'll get it fixed. This truck will probably stay together indefinitely. I hate taking things apart and having...

    Paramount water truck

Was wondering how much pressure little aftermarket electric pump put out. Stuck a pressure gauge in the second bleeder port on the filter bracket, 10 psi. High pressure/booster pump is bypassed, just hanging off the side of the IP open. I put my finger over the ports of it with the engine...

I grew up in and now run a big machine and welding shop where building, repairing or replacing frames, tanks/beds, suspension, etc. on semi trucks, etc. is normal stuff. So it's no big deal, just whether I want to fool around doing more work after normal working hours are done, haha...
