Yeah, I know about the "little bit of coolant at a time" thing. Just curious. My block drain is further back towards the flywheel housing. Thanks again.
From the connection at the rear of the block, where did you route that hose? The way I have mine routed, wouldn't it basically bypass the thermostat when the stat is closed? Feeding hot water to the heater and then returning the water to the rad side of the stat? Sorry if I am making it...
So I have read up on the heater installs and such. I plumbed mine like so:
Green and red to heater. What I am wondering is can I use the purple and yellow ports for a coolant filter? And do I need to change the green port the to lower port in the lower right of the photo, on the water pump...
Yes sir. Mine is sitting in the yard with the sprinkler under it now!! It was fun but clean up is never fun!
On to the PlyDeuce. I have been working on the A/C and power steering. The A/C system is a bastard of Gm/Ford/Amana/and god knows what else parts. The GM compressor mounted up like it...
I've had goo luck with this design from my rock crawling days. I won't have a problem of being too low for a jack when the air bag fails! I have this same style "swing arm" suspension on my 97 F350. It's been great for the past 8 years with only minor airline/fitting problems.
My dad calls it the Douche-mouth.......Not funny!! Hahah. Yes, it needs a track bar/panhandle bar/insert name here. This is the basic idea. I build the trailing arms out of 2"x4" 1/4" wall. The front pivot bushings are For SD front leaf spring bushings.
I ended up using the deuce dash and trans/tcase covers in the Plydeuce. It's coming along. I need to have it moveable on the 9th for a VIN inspection. The rear suspension is mostly finished. It is a Peterbilt-style low air leaf set up. Simple, great ride quality and easy of maintenance.
Thank you sir!!
For sure! I am trying to get it moveable so I can trailer it to the State Patrol for a VIN inspection. They used to come to your house and do them but stopped a week ago.... Always a day late and a dollar short!
Just the front. I wanted to 4-wheel steering but I am spending...
I drive mine up and down the streets of my very small town. It has no doors, no roof, no grill/rad, no bed, no plates, no nothing..... Everyone loves it. They all honk and wave. I think it would be rude to call them all hillbillies or rednecks.... haha
Of all the dirty, filthy, rusted and muddy parts on this truck, the injector lines were great! I only had one line that was slightly upset about being disturbed! The hardest parts of this whole deal was the slight wind and 27* weather in my outdoor shop! I still need to reinstall the lines today...
It was work-on-Powerstroke Day today but I was able to get the right oring for the preheater injector. I didn't write down all the measurements but it was 16mm OD and it works great now, no more leak. Then I proceeded to drive around town for a bit, annoying all the cheerful folks! I delivered...
This is a quick photohackjob I did as a rough rendering. I don't have a title for the M35 so I can't do much with it and it is only half the cab anyway. I have a clear title for the C600 so, BAM! Problem solved but creating 100 other problems....that's just the way I do it ;)
I did a little to my newly acquired deucer. It seems that my preheater injector is leaking out the plunger end. I pulled it apart today and it seems the orings are a size that I did not have. It still leaks. I'll need to try to get the right orings tomorrow. I don't really forsee needing the...
