    You should run it at full RPM at all times. Load will only be applied via the output terminals. There is no way to load it internally. Its best to rent/borrow/build a load bank to give it a good workout before you need to use it in true emergency conditions.

    No, the part that is sticking out of the side of the enclosure. It is threaded into the fitting.

    They threaded a nipple into the oil drain fitting in the image. Remove the nipple and install the plug.
