    If you ever want to upgrade the units you might consider one of the inverter based ACs. I can easily start mine with the 831. Its a 14kbtu 120v unit. Really energy efficient too! I run it in the summer time off the solar setup. It was a bit over $500.

    Yep, battery too drained. That is why I suggested disconnecting the battery and starting it. That will tell you right away if your charger is working. I don't even have batteries in my 831 right now. I just pull start it.

    Everyone needs to know that the replacement pump is functionally identical but not mechanically identical. The fittings are 3/8" instead of 1/8". Adapters will have to be applied to make it work.

    With the wiring you are describing its most likely the motors on the compressors. Edit: When I'm running in 115v mode on the 831 I also jumper L1 and L2 at the generator.

    What is the wire size between the generator and loads? If you are running in 115v mode you'll need at least #10. If you have a pretty fast volt meter with a high/low capture feature you can capture the voltage range at the AC unit and at the generator during a compressor start and see if you...
