What did you do to your trailer today.

More progress on the m416. Added the metal brake lines and LED lights and wiring. Still need to install a new rubber brake hose and bleed out the brakes. I’ll have to check the bearings too. I kinda like how the m101a3 jack turned out.

Made some progress on the goofy looking m416. Nothing special up close but it’s green. I just want to get something done completely, even if it’s the easiest project.

I’m working on changing over an m416 jeep trailer to m416a1 specs lately. Since the surge brake is similar to the one on the m101a2 and a3 I figured it’d be different to install a crank up landing leg like on the m101a3 so I modified one to fit. No one knows for sure, there have been quite a few threads over the years discussing them. The earliest trailers didn't have them.

I see two trailers involved. There is an m101a3 on HMMWV tires posted above, and computer posted a picture of his stock m105 on deuce wheels and tires. Bolster trailer wheels are much different in offset than the dually wheels from an m35. The offset is the same as the tubeless wheels found...

Another thing to remember is that while bolster wheels can be used to lower the trailer down they'll stick out at least a few inches on each side, so you'll probably want to add some fenders depending on your local laws. They are just right on the m103a3 welding trailers, as well as the m105a3s...
