    Yep, for the aluminum radiator, the 16" will probably fine. I'm just saying that if somebody is replacing the fan on a stock setup (direct replacement, like this thread was originally about), then better to match the diameter as closely as possible to take advantage of the built-in shroud on...

    All mechanical fans are pullers. You just have to get the correct direction of rotation.

    The only problem I see with that summit fan is the diameter. The stock fan is 20" and that one is only 16". For a direct replacement, you might be better off with the 18.375" one. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/flx-418/overview/

    Good point. I have had problems with alternators and batteries so I guess I'll stick to an engine-mounted fan.

    What's the haps, FMJ? I just discovered today that I need to buy a fan and I'm trying to justify $125 for a nylon one over $35 for a used steel one. I'm also considering about $100 for an electric one.
