Helps to have a friend that's a welder/fabricator. Cut the end off, then bent some heavy sheet over the top of it to match, was just large enough to get the Hewitt Industries gages in. Had to angle upwards a fair amount so they could be seen.
Only thing I can answer is #9. There is no waist gate. The snorkel piping and air filter are so restrictive
it is not needed because it can't make enough boost to worry about. Now if I can just get my boost gage working.......
