    RE: Brake fluid -how to tell which kind you have DOT 3 or DO I always check by getting a tiny bit on a finger and touching it to the tongue...3&4 are bitter, 5 is like olive oil. Rinse. Repeat if necessary. Chase with favorite beverage! dg
