That was a Portland problem - really just downtown Portland at that which is a comparatively small area of perhaps a 20 block radius.....and quite entertaining actually. In the same way you can't look away from a Train Wreck. The crazies have taken over the city much like they have many other...
Changing the subject I see.
I have zero concerns about the C7 rerate at the *tiny* HP number of 370. I've seen plenty of lesser engines making significantly more power. I've got a 5.9 Cummins Dodge at my shop right now that was making 1100 HP and did so for 40k miles before it dropped a valve...
Again with the claims and no references. Supply and demand doesn't just stop working and economies don't just implode like your predictions would suggest. Until technologies come online and are adopted to replace the entire transportation sector (planes, trains, trucks, etc) with alternatives...
Wise decision to remove your ad hominem. My education level isn't the topic of discussion - I'm educated enough to know that!
You haven't brought any "expert" testimony to this discussion. You have made only unsubstantiated claims and generalizations. I posted an article refuting your claims...
It's always "unstable" - has been for decades. Stability doesn't have enough divisive issues associated with it for proper "control". Keeping people divided over "divisive issues" is HOW they maintain control. Isn't is curious that almost every issue, every measure, every party, every vote is...
Why would they demil them with the included CD's and manuals if they are illegal to distribute?
And in any case doesn't that pretty much invalidate their distribution restriction? That shit is literally everywhere. I don't see how they can claim it's classified now.......
I'm happy to give it...
I think in some respects you may be confusing the A1R with the A1P2. Totally different animals. MWME has an A1P2 LTAS for sale at $250k..... I have seen no A1R's for sale in this price range.
The TM's are absolutely available. Just PM me and I can get you anything you need. In another thread I...
Having ridden in all versions....... I prefer the HEMTTA4's. They ride like a Cadillac.
But seriously the A1R gets all this flak for the lack of an air ride cab and honestly you just don't notice this significantly in practice. The addition of the suspension seats and generally people...
He's not wrong but IMO the C7 trucks are worth a reasonable markup on the entry price. For one they are rare. Only about 1/5th of the non-LTAS trucks were ever made as A1R C7 trucks. The military still owns quite a few with National Guard and Reserve units so they will continue to trickle out...
There's absolutely nothing wrong with being satisfied with the 3116. It is an acceptable (some might even say good) engine and if it meets your needs then there's no argument I can make against that.
And none of this discussion went off on tangents. The discussion is about the 3116 or the 3126...
You throw stones without explanation. Peak torque is peak efficiency. So exactly why would I NOT want to cruise at closer to peak efficiency? Please enlighten and please use science rather than emoji. Thank you.
As the owner of a performance shop with a chassis dyno I wouldn't buy anything from that type of web site. That's likely to blow your engine up or do nothing or next to nothing. It's a "piggyback" device that's going to take engine sensor inputs, alter them, and re-transmit the altered data to...
Actually the point isn't to go fast or burn more diesel. The point is to increase fuel economy - in conjunction with the 3.07 differentials lowering the RPM closer to peak torque and also increasing peak torque the engine will not be working as hard at the same speed (50 - 55 mph). This will...
Torque is the important factor and that's why CAT charges for rerates based on torque not on horsepower.
Yes I am exceeding the torque rating by about 60 ft lbs. I concede that.
In the scheme of how these vehicles are used and what they are rated for - considering my example of the A1P2...
I have ordered the water cooled turbo that is used by the 370 HP RMF engine if that is what you mean - that's the only difference I can find. The requested and delivered boost pressure is dead-on with the 370 map and my stock turbo.
I don't think in practice it will matter with the high quality...
There's really zero evidence that reliability is significantly altered. That's an unsubstantiated claim. Where's your evidence for this? I have provided examples showing the manufacturer has no concerns with this engine at this power level pulling over 4x my weight in conditions I will...
The Oshkosh M1240 M-ATV uses the C7 @ 370 HP. This in an off-the-shelf dyno tested CAT sanctioned flash for this engine. The M1240 weighs 25k lbs BTW. The flash file in question is dated November of 2009. No one in the military or CAT has seen fit to derate the engine from that specification...
