Indeed! That's just what we did. Ordered new hardware and just took the nut off. The only time we replaced a load terminal was when the threads were stripped. At that price, you could order on, just to see if it works.

This load terminal/ground stud has been used on Army generating since the early 70's. I know that Cummins sells it. I will try and look in the morning for another supplier. There are about 4-6 part numbers if I remember right.
Have you downloaded the TM?
Have you ever seen this gen set work right? Is it new to you?
What relay did you find burnt.
Are you sure that you replaced it with the right relay? K12, K14 and K15 are not all the same relay.
Do you know how to use a multimeter?
Can you read a schematic?
The main reason this happens is because if you look in the parts manual, the picture shows not two different relays, but just one type! People look in the book, order parts and stick them in. The second reason is because the darn things look alike. And the problem is through the whole TQG fleet.
Hey, I talked with someone in a PM, who has a problem with his 831. He thinks K8 is not working. Has anyone tried to take a A8 apart and look at the darn thing?

Morning!
Chris is right. Run it under load. But start it out at about 1.5 KW, and run it 2-3 hours. Then step it up to 2-2.5 KW. Run it a few hours. Then bump it up to 3-3.5 KW. If you try and start it out at 3-3.5 KW, the gen set may reject the load. Just like you could not run a 30 klick...
