I love Optima. They have been over the years, simply great batteries.

No, That is my good friend, my Road Pee and Business Partner, Willie. I bet he works in a gas station some place in Alabama. The old building doesn't look too bad. But no lights, doors had to stay open 24/7 and even in the middle of the day, you needed a flashlight. I carried at least two, and...

I had it happen to me a few times in Germany. We parked a 1200 gal fuel tanker behind the gen building. Knocked holes in the wall and ran aux line from the gen sets to the tanker. In the winter, the lowest point in the aux fuel lines would accumulate water. Temps dropped below freezing. At 02:30...

    1. Any water in the line would freeze. Too much water, busted line. 2. If joe the plumber walks by, kicks the hose coming out of the ground, or breaks the fitting off the gen set, what happens? If no valve is in place between the fuel source and the lowest open part of your line and the lowest...

Or you could unplug the float switch, and jump the two pins. Then you don't need to get your arm and hand stinking like fuel.

Depends on who was looking. I almost never ordered 3 piece rods. Too expensive. I got the one piece rods. AND you could not cheat, unless you used a hacksaw. In Air Defence, we often were inspected by NATO wiesel's. They had no humor for short rods. A commander could loose his job if something...

I actually knew someone who tried to use one, while under load. Contractors are not supposed to assault Soldiers. I showed great restraint. His supervisor, did not. Its funny now, but I thought he had come to an abrupt end when he flew backwards off the PU trailer and slammed into the Truck...

Did you try the wrench? There are several sizes. NEVER use it under power. Try and use it when the set is stopped, and you will understand why soldiers cut several inches off the handle.

Diesel is not so aggressive on O-rings. The JP-8 we used in the military was a different deal. If it works, don't screw with it. Wait until you need to change the filter. Interesting. I went to the Lister Petter parts book. They have wonderful pictures of the filter assembly. But no...

When we ordered them in the army, the baldwin filters came with them, yes. Having said that, we often had to replace the "O" rings or someone lost them. We simply dipped into our "O" ring kit, and found one about the right size and it worked. There is a NSN for parts kits, (part number...

If you haven't already, push the red wire down and secure it with a wire tie. It's not just neater, it keeps it from being snagged by your hand, wrench, droplight, the dog's paw and so on. You have a good clean looking set there!

Yeah, its for scanning. Everything in the military has such a scanner plate on it. No fuss, no muss. Simply point the gun, pull the trigger. If you were in the military, you have to remember inventories! What a PITA. But necessary. The commander's 10% inventory every month was an incredible time...
