    Perhaps you need top look at the TM's. There is a test procedure in the -24 TM, for the fuel level switch. If you have the switch out of the set right now, hook up the plug to it. Have someone hold the float up, and see if the set starts, (turns over) with the S1. If so, then the problem is no...

    Correct. Low fuel will not allow you to start the engine.

    When you and Chris get started on the set, keep in mind that you will hear no electrical fuel pump, because there is none. Just Aux pump.
