I did this in an A3-mine has the rubber floor matts and is very quiet compared to my duece. Tried it-its pretty good. No reason to crank Johnny Cash loud anyway. -

Put a stereo in my A3. Used a 12 to 24 VDC convertor with a heavy duty on off toggle switch. Found cheap boxed speakers and Pioneer stereo on Amazon. Made a plate that bolts to side of shift tower-used existing holes. Bought a plastic radio housing and mounted to plate. The antenea got mounted... -

Maybe you should consider a muffler is you are not going to wear protection around town. Better to wear protection-get the rear plugs with the hard plastic band-they dont look dorky and do a decent job. With your speakers so close to yer head, you will be able to still here them. Double dog...
