Yes, Sir...they did. That second alt is gone, on the drivers side, and in it's place is a nice looking AC compressor. Now I just need to see if I can get her running. :)
It seems as though I have the plumbing for the AC. Lines seem to be there. Wiring, I'll need to work on.
Looks as though field mice lived in vents at some point. Any way to clean those good?
I was literally just thinking about that. What information should I start gathering about the setup in order to start troubleshooting it??
Electrical connections
freon hoses
what else?
That is another area I have absolutely no experience in.
I will have to finish this up during the week. It's too dark and I don't have good lighting, or all my tools, here in my temp quarters.
I do believe, however, that the melted wire is most of my problem.
More, later in the week.
No, I haven't. In fact, I've never tried that before. Just hook it up like you would jump start your batteries? Red/black on battery and then red to starter solenoid and black to ground?
I'm about to start replacing all relays and electrical wiring on the beast... just to get her running again!!! ;(
It's probably something extremely simple that I'm overlooking....
Halfway tempted to do it. It was mostly converted when I bought it from a Sheriff's Dept in West Texas, so I just worked with some pro's to finish it up...been working good for a couple of months until this weekend.
This truck was running fine until I took it into a car wash and had the guys deep clean my interior. It started fine after they cleaned it, but after I got home and tried to start it again later, it would not start. I did not wash the exterior, just the interior was clean. I'm wondering if...
I will test that purple wire again. Just a clarification from my earlier post, I left those two red wires off for a reason. I knew at that time I really didn't need them, so I did not attach them.
;)
