    As update: the tire strip I used was WAY too thick. Will have to tear it off and try again with something else. The hood latch won't reach and there's a big gap between the hood and the side panel.

    I just realized--mine might be different than what you needed, because I'm using tire strips not NOS rubber strips. Thanks but nevermind! I will figure it out.

    I've got 2 strips cut out of an old tire and I was planning on using screws (like the ones I took out) but I'll try the rivets--thanks!
