    New M1008. Many different issues.

Still have the finicky starter, but it's on my list of to-do's. I made some videos of problems I had with Glow Plugs. Stuck then broke! I'm no mechanic, but a video like this would have been helpful for me, so here it is if anyone want's to watch. It's three parts. Part 3 is my favorite.

This is the truck being discussed.

    New M1008. Many different issues.

PM sent. I'm willing to go to Lewisville for a good recommendation. On another note, I was able to get six of the glow plugs out. One was a bit of a fight with some vice grips. Thankfully, the other two are the first and third on the drivers side. On the Harley, I would never put the plugs in...

On the 60G glow plugs, it so happens that the end is too wide to plug the wire in. Compared to the old plug, it's about 25% wider. The packaging says it's the ACDelco 60G. I guess I could replace the wire ends? Is there another option? Also, do you recommend antiseize?

Awesome, thanks! I just started new post about this. I'll go remove it now. I wasn't sure if these were the good choice for 24v.

I'll verify which I have when I remove it. Rebuilding sounds like a cheaper option. I'll need to find a good shop in the area. Also need to have a good shop do the injection pump too. It was leaking... actually gushing fuel, but after it's been started a few times and driven around a few...

Love this kind of recommendation! Do you have a glow plug recommendation? I haven't been able to find any plugs locally, so going to order some online.

I have some confusion as to the starter. I thought I need a 24v starter, but the K-30 is 12v, right? I don't know what it means to have gear reduction. I'm trying to find part numbers and a how-to on replacing the starter now. Does NAPA sell a 24v starter?

Funny how easy it is sometimes. I had tried tapping the starter with a hammer before... It's 10 pm, got the flash light and a hammer. Tapped the starter casing a few times and heard a click. I knew that was it. Got up, turned the key and the truck roared to life! I let it run for a while to let...

Holy cow, I about jumped out of my skin! Yes, it clicks. Yes there's power. Yes it's a freaking 4th of July show jumping red to purple. All I got was a clunk. The starter didn't turn. So, unless there's something else I'm unaware of, this leaves just the starter remaining?

Ok... the Glow Plug Relay is showing 25v. In the picture, I am taking the reading from the top post with the boot on it. Is this the correct post? In this pic, the camera is held near the fuel pedal, point up under the dash. I think this is most obviously the starter relay. Looks like there...

Ok, both Autozone and O'Reilly's put their little hand-held battery testers on the batteries and at 1000 cranking amps, they both tested "good needs-charged". At 750 amps, they both tested "good". As for testing under load, not sure if that's what their hand held devices did or not. I love the...

    New M1008. Many different issues.

I've got stuff coming to make the truck pass inspection, so I'll get that taken care of. Battery connections are fine, and batteries charged, but haven't had chance to get them load tested yet. I'm fairly certain that the truck used to buzz when the key was turned one click. I'm also fairly...

The seller is being good about it. He has offered to come by this weekend which I appreciate. I just made a video. Maybe someone will know what the issue is immediately. Before today, the clicks in the dash would stop. Today, it seems to continue clicking. I'm browsing the "CUCV Switches...

I have some mechanical skills, but no mechanic. I can replace parts, but will likely require a manual. I'm glad they're posted on these boards. As for wiring diagrams, maybe. I've never used them before. Pretty sure I understand the basic principals of electricity, and have had to deal with...

My intent was to buy a running truck. I'll get this fixed, it just puts a big pause on some home improvement plans I had. [edit] I'm reading the forum now.

Batteries have been charged and all fuses by the left driver foot have been replaced. I'm being held captive by a huge green monster in my driveway! haha
