Pulling tractor with a deuce engine

Trying to find a picture of a tractor injector. Found a pic of a tractor connecting rod here: http://www.wengers.com/parts/Farm-Tractor-Parts/White/2-155/2-155/Engine-Diesel/Sub-Component/CONNECTING-ROD/01-403807851.htm

Why would that suggest a different injector? The head castings are supposed to be the same.

This thread suggests that White 2150 had a MM 585 engine, not Hercules: http://talk.newagtalk.com/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=103767&DisplayType=flat&setCookie=1

I wonder if they sent the wrong part. The pics in this thread sure look like should have the same injectors: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?73830-Oliver-2150-with-multifuel

Pulling tractor with a deuce engine

It turns out that there are two different TD military blocks. The LD and early LDT blocks that I have are squared off around #6 while the later LDT are rounded on the passenger side with two ribs extending vertically on each side of the frost plug at the rear of the block. The tractor pulling...

Pulling tractor with a deuce engine

Excerpted from Oliver, Cletrac, Co-op & Cockshutt Tractors Discussion Board - Re: 2-155 cummins conversion I have NO idea if it is accurate. There are some differences in the 478 used in the Army trucks and the ones used in the tractors. The blocks are the same casting but the tractor engines...

OK, given that they are not through bolts with nuts, can the OEM bolts be replaced without resizing the rod?

Pulling tractor with a deuce engine

I'll admit to not having the pan off of one but the TM clearly shows that the rod bolts are not through-bolts.

Pulling tractor with a deuce engine

A few have checked on ARP rod bolts which ended up being too expensive. I wonder if there is room for a short stud/nut? Might be cheaper.

Pulling tractor with a deuce engine

Well, one guy broke enough blocks in one season to justify a custom billet block. Question is at what power does it break and is it worth it to tempt fate when you can do a 5.9 for less $.

Pulling tractor with a deuce engine

The block won't hold up; #6 breaks off. One tractor puller is using a billet block. Too much $$ when a 5.9 is an easy swap.
