    I had the same thing, WITH the Doghead mod. Turned out it was missing the pinion retainer. This keeps the pinion from bashing the nose cone, with it missing it would hang up over-center, keeping the solenoid engaged. It finally broken the nose cone. I welded the nose cone back together, then...
