    Hydro means water. While most hydraulics use fluid other than water, the name stuck. My comment was a pun. Water + iron + aluminum means corrosion. I just hope the MEP 002a I am getting is in better shape.

    Quite literally hydrolocked. Sounds like the generator was in a flood, then someone tried to salvage it.

    Ever hear of wet stacking? That is accumulation of unburned fuel in the exhaust. If the engine is shut down after wet stacking, such half-burned fuel can drain back through open exhaust valves, hydrolocking the engine. Before you chalk this generator up as a total loss, take all four glow...
