Hydramatic As a follow up to this original post, the referb tranny supplied by Memphis was bad, ended loosing reverse completely. After a little effort on my part Memphis did supply a replacement tranny even though it was out of their 90 day warranty. Karl

Thank you for the response! I do run Dextron 3 in the tranny per Memphis recommendations, but still concerned about the whining noise while in reverse. I have not finished setting up the timing for best perfomance. Points are set at .016 with a feeler gauge and have been trying the distributor...
