Forgot about the paint OMG!
Soldier A is doing a lot of web surfing and phone calling when I'm not around, apparently. So, now everything on the motor is going to be hot rod metallic red, because of some TV show clip of a guy named Stacy David building an inline 6 hot rod. Then there are all...
Gaskets and seals are here
Inventory, tax prep and shop setup have been eating up every waking hour as of late. So, we are a little behind in posting about progress and asking questions.
However, we have some good news. Using the parts list that everyone has worked so hard on, we ordered the...
RE: Trailer hookups missing
USMC, it looks as though all of the plumbing for the trailer brakes was removed all the way back to the air tanks. So, we will have to start from square one on that issue. If we pull all of this off before our busy season starts this will be a miracle.
Trailer hook ups missing
Soldier A noticed that all of the trailer hook ups are missing from the back of Ramona. Upon further inspection, there is no plumbing in the frame rails. Is this common or did someone rip this stuff out?
Thanks and blinker pictures
USMC, Napa did come through today, but it was a bit pricey. I will add the information you sent in your PM to the supplier list. The head honcho at the Sumner Napa is an old iron guru so that might be one of the bigger breaks we have had lately.
Here are the...
Third post today
OK, I love soldier A but he has definitely lost hos mind. He just came inside soaking wet, because he was outside in the rain under Ramona again. It would seem that the oil pans have several different types of bolts holding them on. So, mister anal retentive wants to replace...
Out and about town today
For the last two days soldier A has been doing small maintenance items on both of the trucks. It is getting to be time to move some things around at our mini motor pool, so Ramona can get her needed attention.
While doing all of this he just couldn't resist taking...
Two piece oil pan, Bit bigger job
USMC, Soldier A didn't understand what you meant by lower oil pan, but he does now. LOL He spent about 20 minutes under Ramona today and all I heard was holy **** about 50 times.:cookoo: Naturally, I was the ever so supportive wife saying things like, hey it's...
One last thing
The thing that I forgot to add tonight, is our intentions to try and keep everything in one thread if possible. Hoping to make things simpler and save room for others on this wonderful site.
Trying to get ready for an oil change
Baby steps seems to be a popular cliche. In our case that couldn't be more true. The down time we thought we were going to get hasn't come to pass as we had hoped. In addition the weather has been crap for two months now, and not having an indoor work...
Aspiration for conversation
SturmTyger, just for the sake of good conversation and information acquisition, here is what Clifford claims about their dual carb setup. With their split header set they claim 120% performance and economy on the GMC 302.
The WOW factor is also a big consideration...
Help needed
There have been some unfortunate incidents at the motorpool as of recect. This is going to force the required services to be done on Ramona as soon as possible, so she can be moved safely. We have both tried to find as much Intel as possible about the front end rebuild but need a...
So, soldier A has been reading and drinking himself to sleep every night trying to learn everything about Ramona he can. One of the things he seems to be stuck on is replacement of all the rubber brake lines, and where to get them. He has also become fascinated with the products offered by Jack...
Roger that on the zinc Sturm. So, Ramona will be getting a belly full of Rotella when soldier A gets the chance. I also think the Case Hy-tran is what I saw when I did a search last night. So, we can go with that. It's killing soldier A not to be caring for and driving Ramona, but we are still...
Buckwilk Thank you and that sounds great. SturmTyger- What is the importance of zinc in the engine oil? Also I looked up the Hy-tran and it looks like IH doesn't make it anymore. So, what is the best substitute, boys?
Well, it's been awhile since we have had time to post anything. Our business took a radical turn when we finally got into the Seattle stadium district. Talk about things getting out of hand!
So, right off the bat let me address you "buckwilk" the chance will be had again to have a beer...
USMC if the boys got the measurements correct there should be about an inch and a half between the rear set. Those are my tires from Matilda so after they did their experimenting I made the boys put the tires back where they found them :naner:
SturmTyger, there is a touch of rubbing on the...
