Wisconsin allegedly cancelling Military vehicle titles.

To clarify this post, I have been thinking that HMVs produced before 1968 were on safer ground than those produced after. I don't see how any state can do anything to the older HMVs without banning all antique cars and trucks since there were no laws on the books before then and they would have...

Wisconsin allegedly cancelling Military vehicle titles.

I was thinking about all that crap the federal government started passing around 67- 68 for cars. I don't remember any specific laws, I just remember that for almost all of it, trucks over a certain GVW were exempt or didn't have to comply until several years later. I was thinking that was...

Wisconsin allegedly cancelling Military vehicle titles.

This had crossed my mind as a possibility, but I thought trucks over 1 ton were exempt from the first round of safety law.

Wisconsin allegedly cancelling Military vehicle titles.

I think everyone in Wisconsin with anything older than 1968 needs to be paying close attention because they could be next. Keep up the fight and keep us posted. If this kind of thinking isn't nipped in the bud it could spread to other states.

Wisconsin allegedly cancelling Military vehicle titles.

After reading all of the posts here and on the G, it was my understanding that WisDOT is quoiting a law that specifically states that military vehicles are not road worthy. Did anyone ever find that law? I am sure a lot of us would like to see it.

Wisconsin allegedly cancelling Military vehicle titles.

My point was to be careful what you ask for, you might just get it. If you ask for restored HMV to be exempt, WisDOT might just decide that means factory class show queens are exempt and nothing else. On another note, a funny image flashed before my eyes this morning. I am sure most of you...

Wisconsin allegedly cancelling Military vehicle titles.

I have been worried that if you stress the HMV too much you might get a law that could be read to mean that it has to be a perfectly restored vehicle with absolutely no modifications. Kind of like the antique vehicle insurance requirements. Another thought I had was what about the rural fire...
